Modified Caseframe Parsing for Speech Understanding Systems
Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. Natural Language. Pages 622-624.
Abstract
We suggest for speech understanding systems a case frante parsing strategy which deviates from 'pure' case frame parsing in at least two respects: parsing is not exclusively based on top-down instantiation of casefr81118a, and caaeframes are ooerged before uae with syntactic knowledge. Our strategy has bean developed to be executed as an inferential process in which a set of Knowledge Sources cooperate through the blackboard. The Knowledge Sources are aut0111atically defined by ooerging syntactic and semantic knowledge expressed declaratively: this integration of syntax rules and caaefr81118a 11akea it possible to exploit aiaultaneoualy both syntactic and seiiBntic constraints.
