Parallel-Serial Production Systems with Many Working Memories
Proceedings of the Sixth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. .
Abstract
This paper des c ribes several extensions to s tandard Production System (PS) lanr;uages th at appea r t o make them more conveniently u sa ble for a wider variety of perceptual and cognitive sys tems. The extensions are described (givinr; parallel productions, multipl e memorie s , and productionl> that are implied by productions) , and a programming language ( (PS) 2 Mn) is prese nted (in Uhr, 1975) that incorporate s them. Sketches are given indicating how several diffe rent kind s of cognitive and perceptual systems might be coded in this extended lanr;uar\ e , and suegestions are made as to additional extensions that might further augment the power and co nvenience of such a language.
