Representation Theorems for Multiple Belief Changes
Proceedings of the Fifteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. Automated Reasoning. Pages 89-93.
Abstract
This pap er aims to develop furth er and systemize the th eory of multiple be li ef change based on the prev ious work on th e package contraction, develop ed by [Fuhrmann and Hansson 1994] and th e gene ral belief chang es, developed by [Zhang 1996]. Two main re pr ese ntation theorems for general contractions are given, one is base d on pa rtial m ee t models a nd th e other on ni ce-ord ered partition models. An additiona l principle, called Limit Postulate , for the general be li ef chang es is introduced which specifies prope rti es of infinite be li ef changes. The results of this pap er pr ovides a foundation for investigating the connection b et ween infinite nonmonotoni c reasoning and multiple belief reviSion.
