Approximation of Indistinct Concepts
Proceedings of the Eleventh International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. Knowledge Representation. Pages 1244-1247.
Abstract
This theory on seai-equivalence relations is an iaportant and useful tool for investigating classification, pattern recognition, polling and inference etc. Based on it, this paper presents a new fraaeworlc, in which an indistinct concept, that is one with incoaptete or undeterained inforaation about the objects, can be represented approxiaately . Such an approxiaate representation will reflect deep structures of concepts which are aeaningful for the systea . Clearly, the work we present here is to a great extent inspired by general discussions of knowLedge engineering research . The theory developed here seeas to be of interest in knowledge representation and natural language processing. Froa the iapleaentation point of view, this theory can be realized by various AI techniques.
