Frame Activated Inferences in a Story Understanding Program
Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. Natural Language. Pages 624-625.
Abstract
An eff ective sto ry undcrst:.nder must be able to reason about characters in th e story, their affects, actions, plans, and goal s, as well as the settings and important points of the st o ry . In many sy stems this has been done with separate inference mechanis mR for each cl:l. ss of k r. :> wledge struc t ure. This paper proposes a story und erstander with a unified frame-bast'd inference component used on e ac h cl as s of knowledge structure.
