However, for complex learning targets, NeSy systems often generate outputs inconsistent with domain knowledge. Inspired by the human Cognitive Reflection, which promptly detects errors in our intuitive response and revises them by invoking the System 2 reasoning, we propose to improve NeSy systems by introducing Abductive Reflection (ABL-Refl) based on the Abductive Learning (ABL) framework. ABL-Refl leverages domain knowledge to abduce a reflection vector during training, which can then flag potential errors in the neural network outputs and invoke abduction to rectify them and generate consistent outputs during inference. Experiments show that ABL-Refl outperforms state-of-the-art NeSy methods, achieving excellent accuracy with fewer training resources and enhanced efficiency.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2025/1212","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2025/1212","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2025/1212.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2025/1212.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2025/bibtex/1212","volume":{"slug":"2025","title":"Proceedings of the Thirty-Fourth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2025","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2025/","year":2025,"location":"Montreal, Canada","dates":"16-22 August 2025","editors":"James Kwok","isbn":"978-1-956792-06-5","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2025"},"section":"Sister Conferences Best Papers","track":"Sister Conferences Best Papers","number":1212,"pages":{"first":10896,"last":10900},"keywords":["Sister Conferences Best Papers: Constraint Satisfaction and Optimization","Sister Conferences Best Papers: Machine Learning"],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
