The motivation for a tensor-based predicate calculus comes from the area of composite event recognition (CER). As a CER engine, we adopt a logic programming implementation of EC with optimizations for continuous narrative assimilation on data streams. We show how to evaluate EC rules algebraically and solve a linear equation to compute the corresponding models. We demonstrate the scalability of our approach with the use of large datasets from a real-world application domain, and show it outperforms significantly symbolic EC, in terms of processing time.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2024/397","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/397","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/0397.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/397.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/bibtex/397","volume":{"slug":"2024","title":"Proceedings of the Thirty-Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2024","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/","year":2024,"location":"Jeju, Korea","dates":"3-9 August 2024","editors":"Kate Larson","isbn":"978-1-956792-04-1","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2024"},"section":"Knowledge Representation and Reasoning","track":"Main Track","number":397,"pages":{"first":3584,"last":3592},"keywords":["Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: KRR: Non-monotonic reasoning","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: KRR: Logic programming","Machine Learning: ML: Matrix/tensor methods","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: KRR: Qualitative, geometric, spatial, and temporal reasoning"],"videos":[],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Apt et al., 1988] Krzysztof R.
