The language includes modal operators of conditional causal necessity where the condition is a causal change operation. We provide a succinct formulation of model checking for our language and a model checking procedure based on a polysize reduction to QBF. We illustrate the expressiveness of our language through some examples and show that it allows us to represent and to formally verify a variety of concepts studied in the field of explainable AI including abductive explanation, intervention and actual cause.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2024/368","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/368","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/0368.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/368.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/bibtex/368","volume":{"slug":"2024","title":"Proceedings of the Thirty-Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2024","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2024/","year":2024,"location":"Jeju, Korea","dates":"3-9 August 2024","editors":"Kate Larson","isbn":"978-1-956792-04-1","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2024"},"section":"Knowledge Representation and Reasoning","track":"Main Track","number":368,"pages":{"first":3324,"last":3332},"keywords":["Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: KRR: Causality","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: KRR: Knowledge representation languages"],"videos":[],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Audemard et al., 2020] Gilles Audemard, Frédéric Koriche, and Pierre Marquis.
