Training designers for ethical behaviour, understood as habitual application of ethical principles in any situation, can make a significant difference in the practice of research, development, and application of AI systems. Building on interdisciplinary knowledge and practical experience from computer science, moral psychology, and pedagogy, we propose a functional way to provide this training.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2023/794","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2023/794","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2023/0794.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2023/794.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2023/bibtex/794","volume":{"slug":"2023","title":"Proceedings of the Thirty-Second International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2023","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2023/","year":2023,"location":"Macao, SAR","dates":"19-25 August 2023","editors":"Edith Elkind","isbn":"978-1-956792-03-4","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2023"},"section":"Journal Track","track":"Journal Track","number":794,"pages":{"first":6979,"last":6984},"keywords":["AI Ethics, Trust, Fairness: ETF: AI and law, governance, regulation","Multidisciplinary Topics and Applications: MDA: Education","AI Ethics, Trust, Fairness: General","AI Ethics, Trust, Fairness: ETF: Societal Impact of AI","Humans and AI: HAI: Computational sustainability and human wellbeing","AI Ethics, Trust, Fairness: ETF: Moral decision making","AI Ethics, Trust, Fairness: ETF: Ethical, legal and societal issues","AI Ethics, Trust, Fairness: ETF: Trustworthy AI","AI Ethics, Trust, Fairness: ETF: Values"],"videos":[],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Bebeau and Monson, 2008] Muriel J Bebeau and Verna E Monson.
