For symbolic and qualitative reasoning, however, it has played only a minor role. Recently, Lynn, Delgrande, and Peppas have considered conditional independence in terms of syntactic multivalued dependencies. In this paper, we define conditional independence as a semantic property of epistemic states and present axioms for iterated belief revision operators to obey conditional independence in general. We show that c-revisions for ranking functions satisfy these axioms, and exploit the relevance of these results for iterated belief revision in general.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2022/373","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/373","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/0373.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/373.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/bibtex/373","volume":{"slug":"2022","title":"Proceedings of the Thirty-First International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2022","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/","year":2022,"location":"Vienna","dates":"23-29 July 2022","editors":"Luc De Raedt","isbn":"978-1-956792-00-3","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2022"},"section":"Knowledge Representation and Reasoning","track":"Main Track","number":373,"pages":{"first":2690,"last":2696},"keywords":["Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Belief Change","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Non-monotonic Reasoning","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Qualitative, Geometric, Spatial, Temporal Reasoning","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Reasoning about Knowledge and Belief"],"videos":[{"label":"Video #1","url":"https://slideslive.com/38986758","length_sec":75,"provider":"slideslive"},{"label":"Video #2","url":"https://slideslive.com/38984901","length_sec":359,"provider":"slideslive"}],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Alchourrón et al., 1985] C.E.
