Both relate agents and propositional variables. Moreover, they can be nested: an agent i may control whether another agent j controls a propositional variable p; i may control whether j attempts to change p; i may attempt to change whether j controls p; i may attempt to change whether j attempts to change p; and so on. In this framework we define several modal operators of time and agency: the LTL operators on the one hand, and the Chellas and the deliberative stit operator on the other. While in the standard stit framework the model checking problem is unfeasible because its models are infinite, in our framework models are represented in a finite and compact way: they are grounded on the primitive concepts of control and attempt. This makes model checking practically feasible. We prove its PSPACE-completeness and we show how the concept of social influence can be captured.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2022/367","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/367","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/0367.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/367.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/bibtex/367","volume":{"slug":"2022","title":"Proceedings of the Thirty-First International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2022","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2022/","year":2022,"location":"Vienna","dates":"23-29 July 2022","editors":"Luc De Raedt","isbn":"978-1-956792-00-3","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2022"},"section":"Knowledge Representation and Reasoning","track":"Main Track","number":367,"pages":{"first":2648,"last":2654},"keywords":["Agent-based and Multi-agent Systems: Formal Verification, Validation and Synthesis","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Knowledge Representation Languages","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Reasoning about actions"],"videos":[{"label":"Video #1","url":"https://slideslive.com/38986848","length_sec":90,"provider":"slideslive"},{"label":"Video #2","url":"https://slideslive.com/38984991","length_sec":349,"provider":"slideslive"}],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Balbiani et al., 2008] Philippe Balbiani, Andreas Herzig, and Nicolas Troquard.
