This description is given by a partial ancestral graph (PAG) that represents a Markov equivalence class of causal diagrams, i.e., diagrams that entail the same conditional independence model over observed variables, and is learnable from the observational data. Accordingly, we develop a complete algorithm to compute the causal effect of an arbitrary set of intervention variables on an arbitrary outcome set.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2019/859","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/859","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/0859.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/859.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/bibtex/859","volume":{"slug":"2019","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2019","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/","year":2019,"location":"Macao","dates":"10-16 August 2019","editors":"Sarit Kraus","isbn":"978-0-9992411-4-1","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2019"},"section":"Best Sister Conferences","track":"Best Sister Conferences","number":859,"pages":{"first":6181,"last":6185},"keywords":["Uncertainty in AI: Graphical Models","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Action, Change and Causality"],"videos":[],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Bareinboim and Pearl, 2012] Elias Bareinboim and Judea Pearl.
