But few inference relations from maximal consistent subsets exist. In this paper we point out new such relations based on selection of some of the maximal consistent subsets, leading thus to inference relations with a stronger inferential power. The selection process must obey some principles to ensure that it leads to an inference relation which is rational. We define a general class of monotonic selection relations for comparing maximal consistent sets. And we show that it corresponds to the class of rational inference relations.","doi":"10.24963/ijcai.2019/242","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/242","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/0242.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/242.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/bibtex/242","volume":{"slug":"2019","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2019","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2019/","year":2019,"location":"Macao","dates":"10-16 August 2019","editors":"Sarit Kraus","isbn":"978-0-9992411-4-1","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","doi_prefix":"10.24963/ijcai.2019"},"section":"Knowledge Representation and Reasoning","track":"Main track","number":242,"pages":{"first":1749,"last":1755},"keywords":["Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Non-classical Logics for Knowledge Representation","Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: Non-monotonic Reasoning"],"videos":[],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Benferhat et al., 1993] Salem Benferhat, Claudette Cayrol, Didier Dubois, Jérôme Lang, and Henri Prade.
