One idea is dominance pruning, identifying states better than other states. Prior approaches are limited to simple dominance notions, like more STRIPS facts true or higher resource supply. We apply simulation, well-known in model checking, to compute much more general dominance relations based on comparing transition behavior across states. We do so effectively by expressing state-space simulations through the composition of simulations on orthogonal projections. We show how simulation can be made more powerful by intertwining it with a notion of label dominance. Our experiments show substantial improvements across several IPC benchmark domains.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2015/241","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2015/0241.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2015/241.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2015/bibtex/241","volume":{"slug":"2015","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-Fourth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2015","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2015/","year":2015,"location":"Buenos Aires, Argentina","dates":"25–31 July 2015","editors":"Qiang Yang and Michael Wooldridge","isbn":"978-1-57735-738-4","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Planning","track":"Main Track","number":241,"pages":{"first":1689,"last":1694},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
