In this paper, we present novel approaches to allow mobile maniplation systems to autonomously adapt to new or changing situations. The approaches developed in this paper cover the following four topics: (1) learning the robot's kinematic structure and properties using actuation and visual feedback, (2) learning about articulated objects in the environment in which the robot is operating, (3) using tactile feedback to augment visual perception, and (4) learning novel manipulation tasks from human demonstrations.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/471","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/0471.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/471.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/bibtex/471","volume":{"slug":"2013","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2013","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/","year":2013,"location":"Beijing, China","dates":"3–9 August 2013","editors":"Francesca Rossi","isbn":"978-1-57735-633-2","publisher":"AAAI Press / International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":471,"pages":{"first":3131,"last":3134},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
