If computed w.r.t. a general EL-TBox neither the lcs nor the msc need to exist. So far in this setting no exact conditions for the existence of lcs- or msc-concepts are known. This paper provides necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of these two kinds of concepts. For the lcs of a fixed number of concepts and the msc we show decidability of the existence in PTime and polynomial bounds on the maximal role-depth of the lcs- and msc-concepts. This bound allows to compute the lcs and the msc, respectively.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/179","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/0179.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/179.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/bibtex/179","volume":{"slug":"2013","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2013","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2013/","year":2013,"location":"Beijing, China","dates":"3–9 August 2013","editors":"Francesca Rossi","isbn":"978-1-57735-633-2","publisher":"AAAI Press / International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":179,"pages":{"first":1191,"last":1196},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
