We show that they prune exactly the same values when the propagated constraint is connected row convex / closed under median and its complement is row convex. This characterization is exact for binary constraints. Since row convexity depends on the order of the values in the domains, we give polynomial algorithms for computing orders under which BC and AC are equivalent, if any.Christian Bessiere, Thierry Petit, Bruno Zanuttini","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/78","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/0078.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/78.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/bibtex/78","volume":{"slug":"2009","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-First International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2009","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/","year":2009,"location":"Pasadena, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Hiroaki Kitano","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":78,"pages":{"first":425,"last":429},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
