We propose such a language, taking inspiration from previous work on graphical languages for preference representation, specifically CP-nets, and introduce conditional importance networks (CI-nets). A CI-net includes statements of the form if I have a set A of goods, and I do not have any of the goods from some other set B, then I prefer the set of goods C over the set of goods D. We investigate expressivity and complexity issues for CI-nets. Then we show that CI-nets are well-suited to the description of fair division problems.Sylvain Bouveret, Ulle Endriss, Jérôme Lang","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/22","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/0022.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/22.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/bibtex/22","volume":{"slug":"2009","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-First International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2009","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/","year":2009,"location":"Pasadena, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Hiroaki Kitano","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":22,"pages":{"first":67,"last":71},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
