In cases where no recommendation could be found for a given set of requirements, such systems propose explanations that indicate minimal sets of faulty requirements. Unfortunately, such explanations are not personalized and do not include repair proposals which triggers a low degree of satisfaction and frequent cancellations of recommendation sessions. In this paper we present a personalized repair approach that integrates the calculation of explanations with collaborative problem solving techniques. In order to demonstrate the applicability of our approach, we present the results of an empirical study that show significant improvements in the accuracy of predictions for interesting repairs.Alexander Felfernig, Gerhard Friedrich, Monika Schubert, Monika Mandl, Markus Mairitsch, Erich TeppanSplitting a logic program allows us to reduce the task of computing its stable models to similar tasks for smaller programs. This idea is extended here to the general theory of stable models that replaces traditional logic programs by arbitrary first-order sentences and distinguishes between intensional and extensional predicates. We discuss two kinds of splitting: a set of intensional predicates can be split into subsets, and a formula can be split into its conjunctive terms.Paolo Ferraris, Joohyung Lee, Vladimir Lifschitz, Ravi Palla","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/137","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/0137.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/137.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/bibtex/137","volume":{"slug":"2009","title":"Proceedings of the Twenty-First International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2009","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2009/","year":2009,"location":"Pasadena, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Hiroaki Kitano","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":137,"pages":{"first":797,"last":802},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
