The idea is to view inferences in answer set programming (ASP) as unit propagation on nogoods. This provides us with a uniform constraint-based framework for the different kinds of inferences in ASP. It also allows us to apply advanced techniques from the areas of CSP and SAT. We have implemented our approach in the new ASP solver clasp. Our experiments show that the approach is competitive with state-of-the-art ASP solvers.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2007/60","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2007/0060.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2007/60.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2007/bibtex/60","volume":{"slug":"2007","title":"Proceedings of the Twentieth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2007","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2007/","year":2007,"location":"Hyderabad, India","dates":"","editors":"Ramon López de Mántaras","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":60,"pages":{"first":386,"last":-1},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
