This is a fundamental problem in natural language understanding that provides a broad framework for studying language variability and has a large number of applications. We present a principled approach to this problem that builds on inducing re-representations of text snippets into a hierarchical knowledge representation along with a sound inferential mechanism that makes use of it to prove semantic entailment.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/350","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/0350.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/350.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/bibtex/350","volume":{"slug":"2005","title":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2005","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/","year":2005,"location":"Edinburgh, Scotland, UK","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":350,"pages":{"first":1678,"last":1678},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
