Our approach formulates QA as a problem of first order inference over a suitably expressive, learned representation. This framework draws on prior work in learning action and problem-solving strategies, as well as relational learning methods. We describe the design of a system implementing this model in the framework of natural language question answering for story comprehension. Finally, we compare our approach to three prior systems, and present experimental results demonstrating the efficacy of our model.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/230","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/0230.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/230.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/bibtex/230","volume":{"slug":"2005","title":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2005","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/","year":2005,"location":"Edinburgh, Scotland, UK","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":230,"pages":{"first":1054,"last":1059},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
