This paper does the following: it proposes a different approach where generating plans is decoupled from verifying them; describes the implementation of an iterative planner based on the situation calculus; presents a few examples illustrating the sorts of plans that can be generated; shows some of the strengths and weaknesses of the approach; and finally sketches the beginnings of a theory, where validation of plans is done offline.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/2","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/0002.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/2.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/bibtex/2","volume":{"slug":"2005","title":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2005","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/","year":2005,"location":"Edinburgh, Scotland, UK","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":2,"pages":{"first":509,"last":514},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
