This paper proposes a logical framework called default clustering based on default reasoning and local search techniques. The first experiment deals with the rediscovering of initial descriptions from artificial data sets, the second one extracts stereotypes of politicians in a real case generated from newspaper articles. It is shown that default clustering is more adapted in this context than the three classical clusterers considered.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/113","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/0113.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/113.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/bibtex/113","volume":{"slug":"2005","title":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2005","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2005/","year":2005,"location":"Edinburgh, Scotland, UK","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":113,"pages":{"first":883,"last":887},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
