In this paper we describe a more systematic and efficient construction of symmetry-breaking predicates (SBPs ). In particular, we use the cycle structure of symmetry generators, which typically involve very few variables, to drastically reduce the size of SBPs. Furthermore, our new SBP construction grows linearly with the number of relevant variables as opposed to the previous quadratic constructions. Our empirical data suggest that these improvements reduce search run times by one to two orders of magnitude on a wide variety of benchmarks with symmetries.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/40","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/0040.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/40.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/bibtex/40","volume":{"slug":"2003","title":"Proceedings of the Eighteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2003","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/","year":2003,"location":"Acapulco, Mexico","dates":"","editors":"Georg Gottlob","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":40,"pages":{"first":271,"last":275},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
