Obligations motivate a normative agent to act: a motive to achieve a state of affairs or to perform some action. Prohibitions restrict an agent's behaviour, whereas permissions allow an agent to pursue certain activities. To test the architecture, NoA agents are applied to automated business transaction scenarios where the correct execution of contracts is paramount to create a situation of trust.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/238","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/0238.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/238.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/bibtex/238","volume":{"slug":"2003","title":"Proceedings of the Eighteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2003","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/","year":2003,"location":"Acapulco, Mexico","dates":"","editors":"Georg Gottlob","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":238,"pages":{"first":1465,"last":1465},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
