One uses the background knowledge as an index into the set of training examples. The second method uses background knowledge to reexpress the training examples. The last method treats pieces of background knowledge as unlabeled examples, and actually classifies them. The choice of background knowledge affects each method's performance and we discuss which type of background knowledge is most useful for each specific method.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/232","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/0232.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/232.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/bibtex/232","volume":{"slug":"2003","title":"Proceedings of the Eighteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2003","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/","year":2003,"location":"Acapulco, Mexico","dates":"","editors":"Georg Gottlob","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":232,"pages":{"first":1448,"last":1448},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
