Their expressiveness has been extended independently in two directions: to account for uncontrollable events, and, more recently, to account for soft temporal preferences. The motivation for both extensions is from real-life temporal problems; and indeed such problems may well necessitate both preferences and uncertainty. This paper proposes the study of temporal problems with both preferences and uncertainty, and puts forward some methods for their resolution.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/208","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/0208.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/208.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/bibtex/208","volume":{"slug":"2003","title":"Proceedings of the Eighteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2003","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/","year":2003,"location":"Acapulco, Mexico","dates":"","editors":"Georg Gottlob","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":208,"pages":{"first":1385,"last":-1},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
