How to revise a distribution? Should, and do, iterated belief revisions commute? And how to provide guarantees on the amount of belief change induced by a revision? Our discussion is focused on two main methods for probabilistic revision: Jeffrey's rule of probability kinematics and Pearl's method of virtual evidence, where we analyze and unify these methods from the perspective of the questions posed above.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/14","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/0014.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/14.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/bibtex/14","volume":{"slug":"2003","title":"Proceedings of the Eighteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2003","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/","year":2003,"location":"Acapulco, Mexico","dates":"","editors":"Georg Gottlob","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":14,"pages":{"first":99,"last":104},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
