Answer set optimization programs (ASO programs) have two parts. The generating program P ge n produces answer sets representing possible solutions. The preference program Ppr ef expresses user preferences. It induces a preference relation on the answer sets of Pg en based on the degree to which rules are satisfied. We discuss possible applications of ASO programming, give complexity results and propose implementation techniques. We also analyze the relationship between ASO programs and CP-networks.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/124","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/0124.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/124.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/bibtex/124","volume":{"slug":"2003","title":"Proceedings of the Eighteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2003","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/","year":2003,"location":"Acapulco, Mexico","dates":"","editors":"Georg Gottlob","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":124,"pages":{"first":867,"last":871},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
