This measure is unique in that it extends the glosses of the concepts under consideration to include the glosses of other concepts to which they are related according to a given concept hierarchy. We show that this new measure reasonably correlates to human judgments. We introduce a new method of word sense disambiguation based on extended gloss overlaps, and demonstrate that it fares well on the SENSEVAL-2 lexical sample data.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/116","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/0116.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/116.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/bibtex/116","volume":{"slug":"2003","title":"Proceedings of the Eighteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2003","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2003/","year":2003,"location":"Acapulco, Mexico","dates":"","editors":"Georg Gottlob","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":116,"pages":{"first":805,"last":809},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
