In the past, only semi-linear graphs have been used. We examine the application of the model to control the operation of an autonomous rover which operates under tight resource constraints. The task structure is generalized to directed acyclic graphs for which the optimal schedule can be computed by solving a corresponding Markov decision problem. We evaluate the complexity of the solution analytically and experimentally and show that it provides a practical approach to building an adaptive controller for this application.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/96","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/0096.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/96.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/bibtex/96","volume":{"slug":"2001","title":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2001","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/","year":2001,"location":"Seattle, Washington, USA","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":96,"pages":{"first":701,"last":705},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
