We then introduce a rewriting system for answering queries and generating explanations, and show that it is both sound and complete under the partial stable model semantics and sound and complete under the answer set semantics when the underlying program is so-called odd-loop free. We discuss an application of the work to a problem in reasoning about actions and provide some experimental results.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/91","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/0091.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/91.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/bibtex/91","volume":{"slug":"2001","title":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2001","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/","year":2001,"location":"Seattle, Washington, USA","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":91,"pages":{"first":655,"last":665},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
