We propose tableau-based decision procedures for the satisfiability of logics extending ALC with the intersection u, composition ◦, union t, converse ·− of roles and role identity id(·). We show that 1. the satisfiability of ALC(u,◦, t), for which a 2-EXPTIME upper bound was given by treeautomata techniques, is PSPACE-complete; 2. the satisfiability of ALC(u,◦, t, ·−, id(·)), an open problem so far, is in NEXPTIME.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/26","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/0026.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/26.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/bibtex/26","volume":{"slug":"2001","title":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2001","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/","year":2001,"location":"Seattle, Washington, USA","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":26,"pages":{"first":193,"last":197},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
