The model, called view and motion -based aspect models (VAMBAM), is an omnidirectional view-based aspect model based on motion-based segmentation. This model realizes location-free and rotation-free gesture recognition with a distributed omnidirectional vision system (DOVS). The distributed vision system consisting of multiple omnidirectional cameras is a prototype of a perceptual information infrastructure for monitoring and recognizing the real world. In addition to the concept of VABAM, this paper shows how the model realizes robust and real-time visual recognition of the DOVS.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/181","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/0181.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/181.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/bibtex/181","volume":{"slug":"2001","title":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2001","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/","year":2001,"location":"Seattle, Washington, USA","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":181,"pages":{"first":1375,"last":1379},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
