Therefore agent architectures should be optimized as design tools. This paper presents an architectural synthesis between the three-layer architectures which dominate autonomous robotics and virtual reality, and a more agent-oriented approach to viewing behavior modules. We provide an approach, Behavior Oriented Design (BOD), for rapid, maintainable development. We demonstrate our approach by modeling primate learning.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/148","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/0148.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/148.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/bibtex/148","volume":{"slug":"2001","title":"Proceedings of the Seventeenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 2001","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/2001/","year":2001,"location":"Seattle, Washington, USA","dates":"","editors":"","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":null,"track":"","number":148,"pages":{"first":1115,"last":1119},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
