It is both able to deal with incompletely specified models and make precise predictions by exploiting semi-quantitative information in the form of numerical bounds on the variables and functions occuring in the models. The technique has a solid mathematical foundation which facilitates proofs of correctness and convergence properties.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1999/147","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1999/0147.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1999/147.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1999/bibtex/147","volume":{"slug":"1999","title":"Proceedings of the Sixteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1999","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1999/","year":1999,"location":"Stockholm, Sweden","dates":"","editors":"Thomas Dean","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Qualitative Reasoning and Diagnosis","track":"Qualitative Reasoning and Diagnosis","number":147,"pages":{"first":1034,"last":1039},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
