This paper develops a formal specification for handling discrete model configuration changes at welldefined points in time , and a consistent transfer of the continuous system state from a previous model configuration to a new one based on the principle of invariance of state. Simulation algorithms designed to operate on hybrid models define behavior generation schemes that operate on the interval (continuous) to point (discrete) to interval (continuous) switches on the time line.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/84","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/0084.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/84.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/bibtex/84","volume":{"slug":"1997","title":"Proceedings of the Fifteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1997","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/","year":1997,"location":"Nagoya, Japan","dates":"","editors":"Martha E.
