ARTIMIS' kernel is the implementation of a formal theory of interaction. This theory involves a set of generic axioms which models , in a homogeneous logical framework, principles ofrational behaviour, communication, and cooperation. The theory is interpreted by a specifically designed reasoning engine. Wh en applied to the context of natural dialogue, ARTIMIS includes specialised components for speech and natural language processmg.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/149","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/0149.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/149.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/bibtex/149","volume":{"slug":"1997","title":"Proceedings of the Fifteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1997","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1997/","year":1997,"location":"Nagoya, Japan","dates":"","editors":"Martha E.
