# History-based Interpretation of Finite Element Simulations of Seismic Wave Fields

*Proceedings of the Fourteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence*, pages 1789-1796.

## Abstract

Dynamic objects such as liquids, waves, and flames can easily change their position, shape, and number. Snapshot imag es produced by finite element simulators show th ese changes, but lack an explicit representation of the objects and their causes. For the example of seismic waves, we develop a m e thod for int erpreti ng snapshots which is based on Hayes' concept of a history.
