Proceedings of the Thirteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. Panels. Pages 1677-1682.
Abstract
Grand challene;e AI applications are applications with sigmficant social, scientific and engineering impacts. This panel describes major research programs for grand challenge AI applications, and discusses why these applications are important, what technical challenges are, and what computing support levels are necessary. The panelists present grand challenge projects in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
