The idea of a perturbation is introduced as the key to providing a qualitative account of continuity, and a set of axioms is given from which an important result called the Perturbation Principle is derivable. Finally it is shown bow the system enables various types of events to be defined in terms of their conditions of occurrence.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1993/215","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1993/0215.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1993/215.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1993/bibtex/215","volume":{"slug":"1993","title":"Proceedings of the Thirteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1993","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1993/","year":1993,"location":"Chambéry, France","dates":"","editors":"Ruzena Bajcsy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Qualitative Reasoning and Naive Physics","track":"Qualitative Reasoning and Naive Physics","number":215,"pages":{"first":1550,"last":1556},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
