This process identifies commonalities across explanations that cannot be extracted solely by explanation-based techniques. This has important implications for the 'correctness' oflearned knowledge [Flann and Dietterich, 1989] and, as we show, on the efficiency with which learned knowledge can be reused. Specifically, we illustrate that inductive concept fonnation can abstract and organize explanatory knowledge for efficient reuse in a domain of algebra story problems.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/92","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/0092.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/92.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/bibtex/92","volume":{"slug":"1991","title":"Proceedings of the Twelfth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1991","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/","year":1991,"location":"Sydney, New South Wales, Australia","dates":"24-30 August 1991","editors":"John Mylopoulos and Ray Reiter","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Learning Be Knowledge Acquisition","track":"Learning Be Knowledge Acquisition","number":92,"pages":{"first":630,"last":636},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[{"position":1,"raw":"[Braverman and Russell, 1988] Braverman, M. and Russell, S.
