Especially transient failures require a sophisticated problem-solving strategy and often overcharge an experienced human diagnostician. Unfortunately, such transient failures occur in many applications and cause unacceptable misbehavior. Therefore, dealing with failures which have a temporal aspect is a challenging task for model-based diagnosis. However, current research on model-based diagnosis treats assumptions about the component behavior as static and therefore fails to reason about time-varying failures. In this paper we present a new approach to model-based diagnosis which enables us to deal with its temporal aspects.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/164","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/0164.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/164.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/bibtex/164","volume":{"slug":"1991","title":"Proceedings of the Twelfth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1991","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/","year":1991,"location":"Sydney, New South Wales, Australia","dates":"24-30 August 1991","editors":"John Mylopoulos and Ray Reiter","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Qualitative Reasoning","track":"Qualitative Reasoning","number":164,"pages":{"first":1116,"last":1121},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
