The development is partly historical and partly analytic . A relational account of preservation is then presented and from this the two notions of inferential structure and inferential model are derived. To illustrate the generality of the relational conception of inference, we show how such structures and models can be realised in the development of a legal advisory system.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/154","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/0154.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/154.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/bibtex/154","volume":{"slug":"1991","title":"Proceedings of the Twelfth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1991","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/","year":1991,"location":"Sydney, New South Wales, Australia","dates":"24-30 August 1991","editors":"John Mylopoulos and Ray Reiter","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Philosophical Foundations","track":"Philosophical Foundations","number":154,"pages":{"first":1046,"last":1050},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
