Given program II and goal G, G belongs to the well founded model of II iff there is a W F M-derivation for Gin II. Likewise, given program II and goal G, G belongs to some extended stable model of II iff there is a XSM-derivation for Gin II. Correctness (completeness and soundness) of these procedures is discussed. Example derivations are exhibited, as well as a simple Prolog implementation that directly mirrors the procedures.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/127","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/0127.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/127.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/bibtex/127","volume":{"slug":"1991","title":"Proceedings of the Twelfth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1991","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/","year":1991,"location":"Sydney, New South Wales, Australia","dates":"24-30 August 1991","editors":"John Mylopoulos and Ray Reiter","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Logic Programming","track":"Logic Programming","number":127,"pages":{"first":863,"last":868},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
