Furthermore, relevent concept classes, where a small number of queries is sufficient, are characterized. In this paper we advocate and present the benefits of the use of queries in order to learn a target concept efficiently. Thus providing the foundations for automating the knowledge acquisition process. Based on these results, we developed a knowledge acquisition tool KAC-Z which uses queries about specific domain objects. The systems usefulness has been demonstrated by its application in the domain of manufacturing (cutting) industry.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/115","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/0115.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/115.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/bibtex/115","volume":{"slug":"1991","title":"Proceedings of the Twelfth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1991","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1991/","year":1991,"location":"Sydney, New South Wales, Australia","dates":"24-30 August 1991","editors":"John Mylopoulos and Ray Reiter","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Learning Be Knowledge Acquisition","track":"Learning Be Knowledge Acquisition","number":115,"pages":{"first":783,"last":788},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
