This exercise is motivated by a recognized lack of experience in implementing ~ISs to deal with actual A.I. programming problems. ALICE IS composed of two procedurally introspective languages ~ased <?n ~ISP ~d on Horn clauses, respectively. The mtegration IS achieved by means of a new kind of reflection called ~ut~al reflection. The design of ALICE required the ~eneralization of several concepts and mechanisms introduced m 3-LISP. The discussion is completed with a set of general retrospective considerations.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/9","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0009.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/9.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/9","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Architectures and Languages","track":"Architectures and Languages","number":9,"pages":{"first":44,"last":46},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
