These techniques are being implemented in a structure that dynamically reasons about the discourse, a student's response, and the tutor's move. The structure is flexible, domainindependent, and designed to be rebuilt - decision points and machine actions are modifiable through a visual editor. We discuss this formal reasoning structure and its application in an intelligent tutor.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/36","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0036.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/36.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/36","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Cognitive Modeling","track":"Cognitive Modeling","number":36,"pages":{"first":189,"last":192},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
