We assume that resources are unreliable, making it necessary to retain imprecision in the execution times assigned to specific agent operations. To this end, a probabilistic model of resource allocation is developed for use in estimating the consequences of execution intervals (representing sets of possible resource allocation decisions). This leads to a probabilistic representation of requests for resource usage for which resource congestion constraints can be defined. We consider two applications of the framework: prediction of bottleneck resources and time bound scheduling.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/217","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0217.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/217.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/217","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Reasoning","track":"Reasoning","number":217,"pages":{"first":1063,"last":1065},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
